that's really the case, since an open window simply creates more airflow. we also fell into the misconception that the ventilation system cools the house in summer. the ventilation system is there so that you have to ventilate less in winter and to prevent mold-prone humidity. new houses are insulated so well that 2 people can heat a room overnight just by their radiant heat. my PC can heat my office from 21°C to 25°C within 2 hours, even though the ventilation system is running at 2/3 power each time.

for summer, you should plan for other things than a ventilation system. for example, windows with integrated mosquito nets or a real air conditioner.

I would absolutely agree with that!

Wow, what kind of PC do you have? :-O

: I was just about to write that... then I googled a bit... so to warm the air in a room (20 m²) by 5 degrees you don’t even need to run 100 watts for an hour
Sure, that's a bit off, since you also heat all the components somehow - but yes, if no heat escapes, you can warm the place "superficially" quickly (principle of a fan heater)

20 m² * 2.5 m = 50 m³ - for air you need ~1 joule per gram and Kelvin - or 1 kJ per kg and Kelvin. Air has a weight of 1.2 kg per m³ -> 300 kJ for the 50 m³ and 5 °K. 300 kJ is about 85 Wh.

Damn, so I should have just installed significantly more multimedia and could have saved myself a regular heat generator.

So on normal winter days with a heat loss of ~2-3 kW, this could certainly be achieved

We sometimes also have windows open at night - despite the ventilation system with bypass function. And at least at Helios, they are not working against that somewhere and thus increasing the wear and tear.
