We are considering that. 2. We are building ground floor (parents) and upper floor (us). Separate apartments. Would it still be sensible to have a central controlled residential ventilation system? 3. We also wanted to air condition. Did you install the lines yourself, or do companies do that without making a profit on selling the devices?

I would give each housing unit its own controlled residential ventilation system. After all, you want to adjust the air exchange independently. Then, per apartment, central or decentralized, depending on preference.
