I would probably rather choose large, undivided windows, unless a subdivision is absolutely necessary due to the size (this is, for example, suitable for floor-to-ceiling windows to the terrace, which can be designed as double doors or similar).
And even if you probably don’t want to hear/read it: Please reconsider carefully whether you do want to install a central ventilation system after all. There are many strong arguments for it and very few against!
Pros:
* Significantly better indoor climate
* No mold growth due to incorrect/missing ventilation
* Ventilation even during times of absence (during the day when everyone is at work or school or on vacation)
* Ventilation even during bad weather conditions (it’s unfortunate when you come home and can’t open the windows on all sides of the building all evening because of rain/thunderstorms – this happens more often in autumn)
* Less dust in the house due to the filter system --> dust less often
* (Not only) for allergy sufferers: pollen stay where they belong: outside
* Much less heating energy is lost --> lower energy costs throughout the year can at least partially refinance the additional installation costs over the years. With rising energy prices, the annual savings grow ever larger
* Since windows don’t have to be opened, the knick-knacks on the windowsill don’t have to be constantly moved (of course you can still open the windows if you want, but this temporarily comes at the expense of the above advantages and is usually only done on suitable occasions)
* And last but not least: increased comfort
Cons:
* One-time installation costs (in the lower five-figure range)
* A few euros of maintenance costs annually, e.g., for replacing filters (which you can usually do yourself)
