Yeah, I think the OP knows that you should hang the TV nicely at eye level^^ I would place the TV on one of the other two walls anyway. At this spot, a nice wood-burning stove would be something nice for the eye.

Another alternative: A small TV for quick channel surfing and a hidden motorized screen with a projector for the TV event. Small is simply accommodated and the screen - projector - combination remains invisible when not in use. It can also sometimes cover a window. By the way, our TV stands independently in a corner and can also be moved elsewhere if needed. Football is on right now.

Hi,

I work for an audio manufacturer and from an acoustic perspective, it would make the most sense to mount the TV along with the soundbar or center (what type the system will be is also interesting, in case I haven’t overlooked it...) centrally on the short wall. A three-seat sofa as a room divider positioned roughly in the middle of the room and to keep it from being too close to the dining table, rotate it by 90°. Possible rear speakers, if direct-radiating, could then be hung on the other side of the room in the corners near the dining table and would provide a nice multi-channel stereo sound distribution throughout the room during parties. In home theater mode, the distance and resulting diffuse sound characteristic create a nice room ambiance similar to dipoles. Front left/right speakers should definitely not be too close to the rear or side wall!

I wouldn’t choose the angled orientation, but I certainly have different priorities there.

Best regards

Tolentino

I’m afraid you’ll then be looking at two light sources (actually even three with the south-facing window on the right) and trying to see the TV picture in between. In winter, this might not be noticeable, but in summer, you’re practically looking against the sun all the time.

It is always a question of what role the TV plays in life. Do you rearrange the living room to make the best use of the device, or is the priority not that high after all? Surely, backlighting is not ideal; in some situations, a curtain helps against it. It really depends on personal preference. Home theater enthusiasts already take the hobby into account when building.

Curtain? Would totally bore me if my husband constantly darkened all the windows just because he wants to watch the 500th documentary about Tutankhamun. But true, everyone has to decide for themselves.
