This is how the whole thing would look with the new idea:

@kaho: So, the doors are not included yet but I think they are already ordered. However, I could ask the house construction company again. Your question refers to whether you can use the old version for a window and the corner sofa runs underneath the window, right?

@bauenmk: Yes, of course that only works with an electric rotating wall mount that then tilts the TV towards the seating area when turned on. But there are quite a few of those, even if they cost some money.

Yes. If you can still reorder, I would do it. Even if the order has already been placed, I would calculate what the new window costs and write off the door as a "loss." Roller shutters and window sills would of course all have to be replanned, so use your head.

I just noticed: My parents-in-law have exactly the same arrangement. However, the TV is generally turned towards the couch. During parties, it is then flat against the wall. In theory, everyone (including those at the dining table) can watch TV, for example the Football World Cup. With the electric adjustment, the whole thing is of course a highlight!

You really have to want to put the TV so central and high on the wall. The living room somehow turns into a cinema, doesn’t it?

I think we are currently really warming up to the variant "TV with electric wall mount." The two doors also mean good natural light in the living room. The only thing that still bothers us a bit is that you can see the TV hanging right at the end of the hallway when entering the house. But I think you can get used to that. The new TVs all look quite stylish anyway. And in winter, you see a fireplace immediately when you come in.
