We thought so too,
but shower, screed, drain, shower head, and sauna with tiled exterior wall required immediate planning, there is no customized kit as a pentagonal sauna with desired centimeters.
A complete self-build like did might be necessary, or plan for 15-30k€.
But even if the sauna comes later, the planning has to be right.

Hello! :)

On the topic of sauna:

- Corner entry Yes/No I think is a matter of taste. I would probably avoid it, especially with self-construction, because you only have to build one less corner... ;)

Regarding the partition wall between the sauna and shower, I rather see the space problem:

Your shower/sauna niche measures about 3.23m x 2.23.
"My" wall construction of the sauna with ventilation layer is 9.5cm thick. But only because I made the ventilation layer only 24mm deep.
If I had space, I would definitely dimension it bigger.
Starting from 5cm, you would get about 12cm for the back wall. At the front, the frame 40mm double-sided clad with profiled wood about 15mm, so 8cm.
If the sauna is flush with the wall of the bathroom entrance door, the clear inner depth in the sauna remains 2.23m - 0.12m - 0.08m = 2.03m.
Now it depends on your size and the desired comfort in the sauna regarding the lying length.
I am 1.83m and due to space have only 1.92m lying length.
That is absolutely not comfortable, because you have to balance exactly and your toes still touch the wall when lying down... But you get used to it after a few times inside ;)

If the 2.03m is not enough, the bench would have to be placed along the bedroom wall.
Starting from 2.10m clear inner dimension, you would be at 12cm + 2.10m + 8cm = 2.30m width of the sauna.
If there is a wall (11.5cm brick), the right sauna wall would also have to be enlarged to 12cm because of the ventilation.
Then from the total width of 3.23m only 3.23 - 0.12 - 2.10 - 0.12 - 0.115 = 0.865m width for the shower would remain. And I am still talking about shell construction dimensions....
I would probably integrate the sauna into the shell construction. It’s a pity you didn’t address the topic earlier, with a little planning it could probably be easily considered in the shell construction.
So more or less like in Post#2 by .
Glazing the entire right sauna wall facing the shower is of course also nice, but then it must be cleaned regularly, or you look out from the sauna onto dirty panes ;)

If you have questions about the sauna, I’m happy to help, also with planning, if it should be a self-build, which I always recommend, by the way ;)

If you meant me with the active vacation: That’s kind, but I have to decline unfortunately. ;)
Son No. 2 is on the way, so vacation means staying at home for now.

Back to the elliptical trainer. It wasn't about whether the device is located in the wellness area or not, but I find it suboptimal to place such a sports device in the warmest room of the house. If you're not exactly preparing for Ironman Hawaii, you take a fairly cool room for training, and even there you often have a fan.

My imagination is nowhere near enough to call a room, that is partly tiled (white), a (feel-good) oasis.

+@all: I don’t think I used the term, but given the size, it seems obvious. Since we will have light "wood decor" tiles all over the floor, free walls for beautiful pictures and space for large plants, a self-built wooden washbasin, I think it will be fine. We will take on the color design of the non-tiled walls after moving in.

By the way, I avoided "tiled shower niches," meaning tiled walls on three sides, in both bathrooms because even when showering, I don’t want to be surrounded by three tiled walls. This was not understood at all in the sanitary supply store, which I do not understand; they really wanted to convince me/us otherwise. (With tiles on two sides, moreover in a lime green gradient, :) with views of three windows, I find it fine.) At a later date, we might cover the two tiled walls with glass photo walls or similar. But my husband and I first have to live in our new house to find out what we want and how. We know a few things; other things we cannot yet assess.

And, as I said, as soon as it is finished, I will post photos here and will gladly invite the forum members to an open house day or similar to take a look at everything. :-) It is also not forgotten that I will then share an anonymized cost breakdown here.

Best directly under the shower, then you’re done faster and can already shower during the "workout". :D
