That is also an unfortunate solution and only the craftsman can help here. Of course, that also costs money. I am also curious how the craftsman resolved the problem. Those are also enormous water costs.

Of course, you can also try to manage on your own, because installing a new float or a gasket is definitely something you can do alone, I even dare to do it myself as a woman :)

It gets more difficult if you really have to remove the tiles because you forgot to leave an access panel. In this case, if it's done, I would consider installing such a panel :)

Good evening,

we had a craftsman here. He also did a very good job. Somehow he cut into the tiles at the joints, then gently loosened them from the wall. That’s how he got to the cistern, where a new technology (das Hebelzeug dadrin) was installed. The tiles could also be freed a bit from the old plaster on the back, and after some of the wall was removed, the tiles could be cleanly reattached. He mixed the color for the joints and now you can hardly see anything. It took a very long time, but the price was less than we thought or if we had to have the whole wall redone with new tiles. All’s well that ends well.

Hi Senni,
I am really glad that in the end everything worked out so well. Even though we are somewhat handy, a professional is the best solution.
Best regards
Annegret
