For us, plastic and frosted glass were ruled out; we would be blocking the sun in front of the living room.

I think 19k is quite reasonable if that is really all-in (foundations included? What about electrical work).

Price drivers are the spotlights, on-site adjustments, and additional equipment like glass walls + shading. If none of that can be waived, renegotiate the 19k/discount or similar and go for it.

That's true, that certainly makes it more expensive. I don't really like artificial light outdoors anyway, I prefer a fire pit on the lawn nearby or candles etc., I think it's called old school :D and when I need light, then one that also illuminates the room, so 1-2 nice wall lamps, spotlights don't provide such light. Similarly with the all-around glazing. Here I see the risk (and have experienced it with friends) that heat builds up inside. Therefore I prefer it open on the side or rather an individual privacy screen. Often there's the grill etc. anyway. Ergo..... if these things are also desired that way, the price seems to fit.

I think 19k doesn’t sound too expensive and the solution sounds solid. For a conservatory, I would always choose on-roof shading; for the terrace, under-roof is completely OK. Switch glass is interesting – but not a cost reducer. The polycarbonate things were over my parents’ terrace. That was OK there because the transparency of the roof was not important for the brightness inside the house. But if the terrace roof has to be transparent in winter to let light into the house – don’t use polycarbonate. Under the polycarbonate terrace roof, it was noticeably cooler than before – they didn’t reach the level of a parasol or even tree shade.

On the 2m deep side, you can also skip the shading, it probably won't do any good anyway. There are many simulators online that show the shadow casting depending on orientation and sun position. At 2m depth, it will practically be non-existent.

So in case you end up choosing a square and not the side slanting towards dEi adapted roof, I can recommend KD roofing. For our new building project, we have a roof measuring 3.5m deep and 5m wide, not in RAL 7016 but in DB703. The roof is laminated safety glass with 10 LEDs (one in the middle and one at the very front each in a row), underneath a sub-roof awning and on one side a side awning (since west side). Both awnings as well as the LED strips (switched separately) are on a single remote control (multi-channel). However, we installed the solution for switching the LEDs ourselves or had a friend install it. It was a matter of an hour. Whether these can also be connected to a wind/sun sensor, I don’t know. But since all parts are from Somfy and operate with the iO radio standard, I assume there are certainly solutions for that. We are definitely super happy with the solution, and in the end it wasn’t much more expensive than your polycarbonate solution. Neighbors of ours opted for polycarbonate because of the price and after installation regretted how much darker the living room became. The construction is definitely also made of powder-coated aluminum. We had similar inquiries with local craftsmen and other companies and were partly priced beyond 20,000 EUR. Hope I could help, even if I don’t suggest the one hundred percent perfect solution.
