This is not a conservatory, but a terrace roof with glass sliding doors. It is not airtight, so gas is not a big problem. It is also used in tents and workshops. Carbon monoxide rises upwards, and the roof has openings at the front of about 8 cm, so it can hardly accumulate. However, I would only use it with a carbon monoxide detector anyway.

The advantage compared to a conservatory is that all sliding walls can be pushed into each other, so the roof is almost completely open in summer. (Up to 75%)

Today the roof was finished, in two weeks the sliding walls and wedges on the side will arrive.

These are important points, I agree with you. Generally, I think quite highly of aluminum too!

Relatives of mine have a terrace roof made of wood and glass. I actually like the look quite a bit, but now after almost 20 years, you can see that it is no longer new. Wood can age better, or worse.

That already looks good.
Which flooring have you decided on?
How much does the canopy cost?
I have now obtained several offers and currently a powder-coated steel frame with milk glass VSG is in first place.
I looked at a canopy with milk glass today that has been standing for over a year... the advantage is that you have to clean it much less than clear glass,
because you don't see every dirt right away.

The thing with the frosted glass is true. But we want a clear view.

The cold conservatory costs us about 12k€ including installation.

So terrace slabs are planned for the floor.

Terrace slabs made of wood or stone?

Frosted glass would personally appeal to me less. Better clear glass, but with a slight slope. That way, rain will wash away a lot of the dirt by itself.

I would also prefer clear glass. After an inspection, I am happy to forgo it. Besides, such things should always be built with a slope away from the house.
