Telekom FTTH - What is needed?

Hello everyone!
In the next few weeks, our FTTH connection is to be activated by Telekom.

I received a fiber optic router from an acquaintance. This one is not from Telekom!!

Unfortunately, I cannot find a point in the configuration where I can enter access data...

Does the router pull the access data itself with FTTH technology?
Or will the router not work with the Telekom connection?

It is a Genexis Platinum-7840 fiber optic router.

I mean at Telekom you get a fiber optic modem as the handover point. From there you continue with a LAN cable. In other words, the router doesn't matter as long as it has a WAN input with rj45...

I'm not sure. I don't know the Ftth connections of Telekom. If it works with PPPoe, yes. Otherwise, you would have to enter your access data on the router. I don't know the one you mentioned either. Isn't it from the German Glasfaser? Was it even the property of your acquaintance? It doesn't seem to be anything special anyway. In any case, you will have to unlock the connection for foreign routers. You will certainly receive the necessary hardware from Telekom to be able to use the connection.

Only a few routers work with ftth, I have a fritzbox 7590, it works. As Rick writes, it goes from the modem via rj45 into the router. In the router, you enter the access data, which you still get from Telekom.

So I actually have to enter the login details into the router. Damn! Then I guess I have to bite the bullet and buy a proper one.
