The sentence is still wrong, because it gives the impression that the tax saving depends on the choice of tax class!

At least it is misleading. They save taxes by being in 3 and 5 instead of 1 and 1. They would save the same amount of taxes if they were in 4 and 4. But she also did not claim anything else. The people who so easily disparagingly claim that one has not understood the tax system either have not understood it themselves, or have read the post but did not understand it. It was about the advantage married/not married and not about the choice 3/5 or 4/4.

Also wrong, they save through income splitting for spouses. It is pointless to try to explain splitting with tax classes.

Exactly, splitting only makes sense if the other spouse earns significantly less / more.

Exactly, spouse splitting. Spouses have 3/5, or 4/4. Unmarried couples have 1/1. You can't choose anything there. Male logic...
