As mentioned; it is definitely possible to optimize the parental allowance yourself with a change of tax class (since it is derived from the "net"). Outside of this special case, I can only agree with my predecessors.

I’m afraid you’ll have to provide the example. "As a rule," the final calculation is the same. That’s what my tax advisor recently showed me as well.

Without children, even marriage doesn’t really bring (tax) advantages if both earn about the same.

If you get about the same amount, that may be true. But if I calculate with 25000 for person A in part-time and 60000 for person B, that already makes a difference. In that example, I think it was over 2000 per year... BTW, I googled for a tax class calculator and I think I used the first one...

A note on one of the calculators: "At the end of the year, you pay income tax regardless of the choice of tax class. That means the monthly effect of choosing the tax class does not affect the annual income tax liability. In the end, you pay the same amount." You basically pay your taxes in advance. Only at the end of the year, when all income is finalized, can your exact tax burden be calculated. Then it is checked whether enough or too much has been paid. With 3/5, the likelihood of an additional payment is higher; with 4/4, you are more likely to get money back.

Also here the question, why is the amount different when you state the annual income?
Otherwise, it will also depend on who can deduct what...

Because the calculator only considers the tax burden before the annual reconciliation. Afterwards, it is the same again. (Among other things, because both can only deduct things together and not one more and the other less.)
