How did you experience your transition? Has perhaps even someone gone back to electric? And how long did it take you to adjust?
Switching with the penultimate cooktop was an immediate revelation for me, my wife, who doesn’t like dealing with technology, also needed an adjustment from the old induction cooktop to the current one – the "5" is no longer the "5". Switching to electric? Induction is also "electric". What I like is that, when done well, induction in the cooktop with the right cookware is almost as fast as gas.
Many reported that you can almost hear a "buzzing" when cooking with induction.
By principle, induction cooktops are audible at higher levels. I have not yet come across one that is completely "buzz-free".
I will have to look more closely at the pots. Because I would like coated pots, mine are not suitable.
As writes: the more magnetic, the more effective. When choosing new cookware, I made sure that not only the bottom is magnetic (which is enough to qualify as "induction compatible"). Especially with "full pots" I warmly welcome heat from the side. We use Silit (excellently coated), LeCreuset (loved because of and despite the weight) and DeBuyer (uncoated iron).
By the way, does anyone have a full-surface induction cooktop?
We have the Siemens EZ877K2Y1E/01 in use. The cooktop reliably detects the position of the cookware. What's great is that you can simply move the pots and the induction field under the pot moves along. So, for example, you can work easily at the front or regulate the heat by moving the pot instead of operating any buttons. I really like using that; my wife doesn’t care at all.
