Our tiler works with a Nivelier-Keil-System and it works great!
We are building with a general contractor, but we took out the tiling trade because the general contractor's tilers only knew up to 60 cm and were significantly more expensive (easily +10 K in total).
Under the floor tiles is an inverted T-tab, which remains and has a predetermined breaking point and levels the tiles through the wedges. You can see this in the last picture, at the front edge.
The result is perfectly grouted! No irregular raised corners.
Tile format is 75.5 x 75.5 cm.
We pay for laying floor tiles in thin bed, 75.5 x 75.5 cm, including leveling system. Net 43.75 EUR (gross 52.06).
The surcharge for laying floor tiles on the wall is 4.30 EUR net.
Tiles (from Saime) were priced at a favorable 29.12 net after negotiation, minus 2% discount.
For 180 m2 of floor tiles + 45 m2 of wall tiles in bathrooms, we got a bit of a discount. With adhesive, grout, sill, baseboards, stainless steel strips and other stuff, however, you quickly end up well over 120 EUR gross per m2.
