The question is of course, are the necessary preparatory works, self-leveling compound/decoupling mat on floor and wall completely included (for this special plaster and filling is necessary)?

Our tiler works with a Nivelier-Keil-System and it works great!
We are building with a general contractor, but we took out the tiling trade because the general contractor's tilers only knew up to 60 cm and were significantly more expensive (easily +10 K in total).

Under the floor tiles is an inverted T-tab, which remains and has a predetermined breaking point and levels the tiles through the wedges. You can see this in the last picture, at the front edge.
The result is perfectly grouted! No irregular raised corners.

Tile format is 75.5 x 75.5 cm.

We pay for laying floor tiles in thin bed, 75.5 x 75.5 cm, including leveling system. Net 43.75 EUR (gross 52.06).
The surcharge for laying floor tiles on the wall is 4.30 EUR net.
Tiles (from Saime) were priced at a favorable 29.12 net after negotiation, minus 2% discount.
For 180 m2 of floor tiles + 45 m2 of wall tiles in bathrooms, we got a bit of a discount. With adhesive, grout, sill, baseboards, stainless steel strips and other stuff, however, you quickly end up well over 120 EUR gross per m2.

@otus: apparently the format/color is currently in fashion, I have comparable ones from Steuler. Also, such a leveling system from Hufa was used for me

Hello dear forum,

now I am also dealing with the topic of tiles. We are currently planning to have the tiles installed by our general contractor (Keitel-Haus).

We have now chosen partly large tiles during the sampling. In the living room, we want to have 80x80cm tiles installed (50m2) and in the large bathroom 90x45cm tiles (15m2 floor and 15m2 wall). The rest of the total 140m2 will be covered with 30x60cm tiles. The 30x60cm tiles are included in the Keitel-Haus offer with an estimate of 110€/m2 (tile price 30€/m2). Everything beyond that (additional installation effort) we have to negotiate with the tiler ourselves. He now said that for the large tiles he would have to charge about twice as much... (so about 50 to 60€/m2 more).

So what do you think? To me, that seems extreme because I already find the price we pay for the standard very reasonable. What additional effort can be justified for these tile formats?

Many greetings Florian
