Bathroom
Bathtub
Towels at the sink
clean the toilet

Bedroom 2x2 m bed does not fit

Kitchen
What about the other cabinets? What is supposed to go in there? No drain will be installed there. Where do you quickly put a hot baking tray or heavy casserole dish?
Despite the window, you will need artificial light on most days.

What is the point of a basement? Food upstairs, laundry upstairs, guests upstairs

What do you think is stored in the corner behind the vestibule? Then the lawn mower and bag of soil have to pass by

House with basement, garage, bay window, balcony upstairs is out of budget.

When do you plan to use the bedroom downstairs in old age

Thank you very much for your feedback. I have understood that I basically need to make some adjustments. I will get to work and get back to you.

Hello everyone,

below you will find (considering your feedback) an adjusted floor plan, which does not allow multiple residential units, but rather corresponds to a spacious single-family house character (especially with a wide hallway). The additional room on the ground floor is therefore omitted. The home office then has to move into the bedroom or to the basement or attic.

The garage is now more practical than a classic double garage, but it is no longer as long. It is as long as the building envelope allows and at the same time a window in the guest WC is possible.

What do you think?

Are you sure that you want to post every rather unconsidered and spontaneous and not yet mature idea now? Just take a look at the guest toilet: basically a corridor with the option to struggle your way to the toilet. As an amateur who devotes himself to the puzzle of optimizing rooms, one should be pregnant with ideas, one should ponder day in and day out and keep revisiting so that there is no risk of putting a loveless copy on paper. If that does not happen, then one should quickly hand it over to an architect. The patience of a forum is also finite and does not always want to point out stair lengths and cabinet depths. Maybe it is a bit easier with paper and pencil ;) First set priorities, back and forth is not productive.

: The whole thing here is meant to support prospective builders accordingly and not fundamentally criticize tools that laypeople have nowadays, right?

We initially posted a floor plan that we worked on for a long time. In the end, we weren’t quite sure if it was too individualized (no clear lines, etc.). Hence our post here.. What happened? Our gut feeling was confirmed and we have now created a new DRAFT based also on your criticism. This draft now needs to be worked on and fine-tuned. Therefore, we would have liked feedback on whether the new draft has taken the criticism into account. We wanted to avoid spending a long time thinking about details based on this draft again (as was the case with the first floor plan), only to find out that the whole thing is not suitable.

What don’t you like about it? That laypeople nowadays in the digital age have the possibilities to design something themselves in a relatively "short" time? As mentioned, we took your criticism, which we can very well understand and had in mind ourselves, into account and have come back with a new basic draft. Besides, we find understanding the spatial feeling, etc. with such a 3D program much more intuitive than with pencil and paper. But that is not meant to be a subject of discussion here... We have considered cabinet depths of 60 cm as well as the stair dimensions (exactly according to this forum - 128 cm width).

Factual criticism about what is not really feasible with the floor plan and what fundamentally needs to be reconsidered and why helps a lot in this situation, I think...

But we have taken your factual criticism regarding the guest WC into account and will adjust it accordingly ;-) Thank you very much for that.

Just to make it clear: We did not intend to come up with a new proposal every two days. We just wanted feedback on whether your criticism has been incorporated into the new draft, or if that was the intention. Based on that, we will give it detailed consideration and get back to you. The new draft is by no means fully thought through, that is clear to us.
