Find in the upstairs does not fit. 19 sqm hallway 11 sqm children's room 12 sqm utility/storage room

I would leave the utility room upstairs. Laundry is done there as well

I find 2 doors to the bathroom impractical

Downstairs I like Kaho's proposal

I am just an amateur here, but if it were my 170m² I would make the living area on the ground floor even more spacious and move the office upstairs.

Our house is about 20m² smaller, with two offices of 12m² each and larger children's rooms (15m²). The washing machine/dryer are hardly visible in our large bathroom upstairs behind the shower, but they would also fit in the utility room (7m²). The latter would have to be well planned and coordinated.

But if it is to stay like this: swap the sofa and kitchen

Hi

If the utility room is to remain on the upper floor, I would relocate it to the storage closet.
Place the two children's rooms on a gable wall because the windows on the side are very low.
No one needs the common room in the upstairs hallway, so add it to the children's rooms.
If a storage room is still needed, then place it between the children's rooms.

No one here would use a bathroom where both doors are not lockable, which is not necessarily the case with all sliding doors. However, it is always very impractical to close and then open two doors to the bathroom. In the living room, you wouldn't have any peace on the sofa with your floor plan if one of the children is constantly going into the kitchen, so I would definitely put the kitchen at the front. The children's rooms are also quite small; I wouldn’t make them under 14 sqm.

Best regards
Sabine

I would also swap the living room and kitchen. The rest would need to be adjusted. For me, it would be a no-go to walk through the chill area with shopping bags or to be able to greet the postman from the sofa. Every family member wants their peace when sitting on the sofa. Curing a slight migraine on the sofa would be a reason to send the family out of the house.

The utility room on the upper floor I consider very sensible. It could also be smaller. Ironing should be possible in a dressing room of over 8 sqm. Nevertheless, I don’t find the dressing room with the two doors very well designed. There isn’t much space for cabinets there. How was the refrigerator in the house? I am not a fan of oversized children's rooms, but 11 sqm is still very small. I would drop the lounge upstairs and add the space to both children's rooms. With a partition wall between two children's rooms, built-in cupboards can be generated - which has advantages for usable space.

I am confused by the windows on the upper floor - they may be okay for the bathroom, but for the children's room actually somewhat... meager.

Floor plan with site plan would be nice ;)

Otherwise ... large hallway, but no obvious place for a wardrobe, shoes etc. for 4 people. ... Ok, something could be placed on the wall to the technical room,

Kitchen .. cooking island only max. 120 cm wide = way too little space around the cooktop

Sofa area in the passage area, and if the furnishing is planned like that, then you create 3 small rooms in the large L, because the sofa in the middle of the room makes the room smaller and is actually also a rather uncomfortable seat.

I see the upper floor the same way as my predecessors ... dressing room a trapped space, bathroom with 2 accesses. Particularly squeezed is child 2 with the low window and the small room.

In general, I find that living spaces, and that includes the kitchen, which are exclusively illuminated by 85 cm high window openings with a parapet height of about 140, always have a basement look when looking from inside to outside.

With a floor height of 302 cm, I would also check the stair riser again.
