I counted the squares. Counting again actually gave 90 cm. Which would still be too small for me as a cabin (and in this bathroom). 90 works if the other side is 120. Or if it’s square and with doors then 100 cm. We’re not getting any slimmer after all... But of course it’s a luxury thing and should only be an suggestion. There are also people who voluntarily shower in bathtubs, just to be able to take a full bath twice a year...

So, I don't really like the situation on the ground floor. In my opinion, there is a lack of closet space in the hallway, the living/dining/kitchen area is overall too small, and the guest/office room is somewhat large.

I would suggest the following change – without a major renovation – which creates a bit more space in the hallway (the doors can gladly be relocated, I just sketched this quickly). The kitchen gets a better shape and better location, the guest room becomes a bit smaller and more elongated (but thus easier to furnish, similar to the kitchen).

The OP writes that there should be few cupboards and additionally a garage. I therefore assume that little stuff has to be stored in the living room and that the “junk” may still find space in the garage. Of course, one wonders how one can have little stuff with 2 children. An additional utility room upstairs would be nice too, however, that strongly depends on the knee wall. If it is near 1m or even below, the children’s rooms become quite small again. Ah, do I see the knee wall at about 1m on average?

@all, forgot, the kitchen is not supposed to be installed like that, those are just "placeholders". It is expected to be U-shaped but we are still planning that..

, oops, you have already made pictures as JPG. thanks Yes, we already have a cupboard for the niche in the hallway, that's why the width/length is like that. The guest room is not really for guests (unless GRANDMA comes to visit ) It will initially be a "storage/office multipurpose room" but later in old age we want to use it as a ground floor bedroom.

, I can only post another cross-section picture in the next few days, my file is corrupted.. , hehe, you are right on, thanks The bathroom was a suggestion from the architect and still needs attention, downstairs we have 1.20x1 and we would like to have that upstairs too but more on that later , knee wall is 1m., which site plan do you mean exactly?

Yes, we have also thought a lot about storage.. especially upstairs. We also had one or two variants with a small storage room. After a lot of back and forth, it stayed that way, in favor of the size of the children's rooms (and the cupboards there). But we will reconsider!

, thanks for your idea! We made the room layout because of the orientation of the house and the course of the sun. And if we sleep there later, we didn’t want that right next to the entrance. I don’t see much more storage space in the hallway in your ground floor design either, the 1.50x42 is intended for shoes, hats, helmets, stuff. The coat rack goes on the hooks here. Maybe I forgot something, what else do you "park" in the hallway?

Great, thanks for the constructive feedback! Regarding storage, we will look at it more closely and reconsider what we want to store where. We went through the whole apartment and basement, wrote down what goes where. That would theoretically fit easily. (Unless a lot more comes that I currently don’t know about, because I don’t have a house yet..) Then give me a tip what you usually store where

I will post the kitchen separately then. Together with the dining table. It doesn’t seem too small to me at all, but I will see after the correct furnishing. We will then tackle the bathroom upstairs (I hope I will get the planning with the 2m line today) and I will also post that separately here. The washing machine should go in there because that’s where the laundry accumulates.. but what’s a strong woman for with her man at her side *lol*, maybe it stays in the utility room for now.

, yes exactly, one meter And our kids also have a lot of stuff (considering the 10sqm room they currently share), it will probably be all over the place but hopefully also in their rooms then. A garage is still coming and because we currently live near Munich (which is about 600km away from the house) we will also "declutter" a lot before moving.

So I can help with stuff in the hallway (apart from jackets, hats, and so on): shoes, shoes, shoes, shoe polish, shoehorn, umbrella with stand, key holder, phone holder with charging cable, newspaper holder, bag holder including briefcase, mirror, pens + notepads and calendar. That would be the rough basics for now. And I have no children....
