Hi Sabine,

there are 2 entrances to the granny flat.
One from outside (to the left of the garage)
and
from the main living area in the basement there is also a lockable door to the granny flat.

..and then just a sliding door to the living room? Drunk people at the party who mistake the door, stumble into the living room or fool around in the guest room? Or those who go upstairs to the bathroom (because downstairs is currently occupied)...

I call that a granny flat with family connection

How about a second door that allows a vestibule with its own access to the basement?

Do you mean whether there should be another door to the hallway in the basement as a vestibule?

Yes and no, the door between the corridor and AB in the basement can be locked with a key.

: Thanks for the suggestion! Interesting, however we also want to ensure the children access to our bathroom 2 in case of emergency (e.g. when bathroom 1 is occupied)

Thank you for your answer. We are pleased and certainly our architect is too. The dashed lines in the attic floor plan indicate an alternative wall path between the children's rooms. Furthermore, we are very excited about your suggestions and criticism....
