I also wouldn't know how to solve that without simply doing it again. If you want a [bodengleiche Dusche], it will simply be necessary.

Yes, and what is your suggestion then??? Why does one first have to discuss with the craftsperson? They should recognize themselves that it’s rubbish, there’s nothing to argue about??? Why does the builder now have to strive for a solution??? If I do something wrong at work, I also fix it myself and not the neighboring department....

Besides the confusion about how this can happen o_O, I am somewhat irritated that it is supposed to be only the tiler’s fault? We also have a tiled shower with a drain channel without a tub, and I just reviewed the raw construction pictures again, I believe the slope towards the drain channel was already created with the screed. So our tiler laid his tiles on an existing slope. Was it not like that for you?

Because tone makes the music, which is probably what Hampshire was aiming at.

Unfortunately, in Germany, too often the question of blame is raised instead of constructively looking for a solution.
But if you only focus on the problem, you haven't come a step closer to the solution during that time.

If at the end of the process the only solution is a dismantling including a new installation in order to achieve the originally targeted goal of the walk-in shower, then so be it.
However, one should not exclude everything else from the outset and only see that the contracting party made a mistake.

The craftsman is more likely to be willing to carry it out as agreed if his concerns (especially the enormous effort) have been appropriately acknowledged in a humane way. It then looks like listening to his proposed solutions and discussing whether the suggested approach can correspond to the originally agreed-upon one.

Why so many question marks?
Why such backward-looking thinking?
What use are “should” considerations when the “is” is different from what is desired?
Does it matter in any way for achieving a goal how you yourself work?
The situation is apparently such that the craftsman does not come up with the idea to offer redoing the work by himself. The client wants a proper solution. To achieve the goal, he has to bring about his desired solution with the craftsman. This works through a goal-oriented conversation—without creating divisions from the first moment, with clear results and appreciation (as already written). It works 90% of the time. If not, you can always look further.

Which craftsman admits mistakes? I don't know any. Even when politely asked if it has to be that way, I was told that everything is correct and he has always done it that way. Probably this is also his confirmation because he has always done it that way. Even if he has apparently done it wrong all along. In my case, for example, window sealing. Or kitchen connections. Although the kitchen plan was available, the sink connection was installed 60 cm too far to the right. When I asked why, I was audaciously told that the colleague who did this said I wanted it that way. The opposing sides develop immediately because the craftsman fears extra work and wants to avoid it in principle. It is also often blamed on the previous trade. But this is not lawful either. If a craftsman notices errors in the work of his predecessor trade, he must report them and may only continue working after these have been corrected.
