There was even a thread once where the basement was only partially made of concrete and the front living area was made of solid wood.
Anything else would have become a penny uh grave of banknotes. But our plot was already built on and thus the earthworks were mostly done.
Simply sliding the basement under the planned house is expensive and will certainly result in a six-figure surplus. Including the basement in the spatial planning and keeping the terrain modeling as minimal as possible is a manageable surplus.
