Should the building description be checked more thoroughly? And what exactly should be paid attention to?

It often says in very innocent wording cloaked that the house from the offer will not be as nice as the show house (unless you add something to it). Therefore, it should be reviewed by someone who can specifically "read" such texts. And/or you use the search function here for "comparison"+"construction performance description" or similar and thereby sharpen your own reading glasses. As a complete layman, you will overlook all sorts of nastiness – especially underestimate the weight of what is not written there.

But you don’t really show much of having read along here for a while.

There is usually a construction description that serves as the basis for the offer/contract. Not every customer requests an offer immediately but wants to read through the [BB] first.

Then you should hire someone to do everything for you. Read through the construction performance description, check for completeness, note what is not included to request everything later from the contractor, also include your own interests, check the contract, materials, execution, start of construction, construction time... also accompany yourself to ensure everything is done as described. But that does not mean you shouldn’t inform yourself. Read in forums, on the internet, books... also take walks in the construction area. There you will see some practical things. It’s not easy, you just have to start.

It also doesn't cost that much to have a construction performance description checked. For us, it was 350€

But first, definitely clarify the price. Otherwise, it could cost even more (zweifache?).

It is very difficult for a layperson to directly compare the different construction service descriptions 1:1. The tile price including max tile size is still tangible; more difficult are the gaps that then cause costs on the construction side (no container or construction electricity, underside of the roof not painted, etc.), and in my opinion, it is very hard to assess professional executions. Therefore, it is not possible to weigh which house building company has the best price-performance offer.

Actually, a closer pre-selection should already have been made through sympathy, trust, etc. Having only one construction service description checked, in my opinion, is one of the last steps before signing. In between, you have to weigh yourself. This should not be difficult anymore with a maximum of 3 companies if you read into the topic of service descriptions a bit on the forum.
