Separate meter and electricity tariff for air-to-water heat pump sensible?

2009. No, the grandma pedals like crazy in the basement. In summer, however, much less, since only hot water is produced.

We simply had a separate sub-meter installed for the heat pump. For us, a separate meter from the energy supplier would not have been worthwhile, as the price per kWh for heat pump electricity in our region is almost the same as the household electricity price.

It should be noted that some suppliers exclude heat pumps from household electricity, and in that case, one would theoretically be violating the terms and conditions.

Interesting topic to which I also have a question. We have 2 meters. (Wurden nicht gefragt, wurde einfach gemacht) I have now ordered the photovoltaic system which is supposed to arrive next week. If I interpret this correctly, the photovoltaic system then does not produce electricity for the heat pump but only for household electricity? Do I understand that right? Then I wouldn’t really benefit much from it?!?!

Many providers also offer the possibility to receive electricity for both the heat pump and "normal electricity" simultaneously. You can look for corresponding metering concepts. However, this leads to increased technical effort and three instead of two meters. Otherwise, you simply have the heat pump rewired to the normal electricity and remove the second meter. This automatically ends your heat pump electricity tariff. The advantage is a better self-consumption balance and, depending on the tariff, no disadvantage, since heat pump electricity plus the meter costs is often not profitable.

Ok. Then I have understood that. It would of course be the most sensible solution to increase the self-consumption rate. Especially since I heard that a potential electric car is not allowed to be run through the heat pump meter.

If he doesn't know that, then he won't have a metering concept to be able to use the photovoltaic electricity for the heat pump.

The question is also whether there is even a heat pump tariff, or if there are simply 2 meters because no bidirectional meter is installed?!
