Semifinal floor plan - please give your opinions

As a layman, the very large pantry immediately catches my attention. Does it really have to be that big? If half as much would be enough, you could design the kitchen in an L-shape and have a much more open living/dining/cooking area...

I see it exactly the same way, I would even say get rid of the pantry completely, enlarge the kitchen and then work with a nice big island and a tall cabinet wall! Of course, the well-known manufacturer would like to sell their U-shaped kitchen with two expensive dead corners! No serious person does that today!

I would leave out the door to the bedroom and enter the dressing room from the hallway,

Or slide the bedroom door downwards in line with the wall between the dressing room and child 1. Then have the dressing room completely without a wall on the right or with a door, but the door going upwards from the dressing room into the bedroom is really impractical.

At the moment, there is a shaft (?) marked between the kitchen and the pantry. If it can be relocated, one could consider enlarging over the kitchen, but if it is fixed there, in my opinion that makes no sense.

Thanks for the hint. We deliberately had the pantry included in the planning because we want to keep as little as possible in the kitchen and otherwise – due to the extension – are somewhat limited in storage capacity. Going to the basement all the time is too time-consuming in the long run, and the kitchen planning (at least the current one) fits very well with our ideas – and the set budget.

The living-dining area is also not so easy to furnish. With square rooms, it is always difficult to arrange the sofa and TV sensibly. Maybe swap with cooking?
