It slopes very gently from north to south. Sorry, this is probably a pretty unprofessional answer, but I can't find exact data on that.

It slopes very gently and quite evenly from north to south. This is probably a really poor statement, but I can't find exact data on it.

To the west there is a fairly busy bypass road, behind it an open field. To the north another relief road is being built, behind which are the schools. To the northeast a large supermarket is being remodeled and to the east the city begins. There are noise protection walls in these directions. To the south there is currently a small field which could theoretically be developed at some point, and then an existing settlement.

The decision would be very easy for me: house slightly smaller and [south-facing plot]. Then the budget would also fit. A few more square meters can be well compensated by good architecture. Not a worse location.

That's how we would wish it too, unfortunately we somehow lack the imagination to picture a house on one of the plots..

Thanks for the tip! At first, a 30,000 euro difference between, for example, 18 and 51 seems like a lot. And adjacent to the 51, something might eventually be built, unfortunately we don't know that yet. We actually considered exactly that yesterday, but then thought that maybe more money in the house and garden would be more important than in the land? Are we making a mistake in thinking that? Actually, of course, we would prefer to try to get such a southern plot, but thought that would be too utopian in terms of budget. But if you could save through good architecture and it comes out the same... o_O

Or build smaller 140-160 sqm instead of 180 sqm and for that on a desired plot.

30,000€ roughly corresponds to 12 sqm of house. So instead of 180 sqm for 500,000, just 168 sqm for 470,000, which is more than enough...

What determines the allocation? I would have gone about it quite differently tactically and chosen the "least popular" plots to increase my chances of getting any plot at all ;-)
