There is no "RAL standard" and no "RAL installation" either. RAL is an institute that grants certifications based on certain criteria, and in the field of window installation these criteria reflect the a.R.d.T. (generally accepted rules of technology). However, this has nothing to do with your base sealing.

Read, as suggested by , "Der vergessene Anschluss" by Wetzel. It mentions DIN 18195-4 [1] (or DIN 18533), which describes your case. You could refer your BU to this.

@Dr. Hix, does the lower closure (at floor-to-ceiling elements to the base) not belong to the RAL-compliant installation of window/door elements?

I am also just an amateur, so I don’t know the guideline by heart either, but as far as I can tell, they remain silent on this. It is only pointed out how important interdisciplinary planning is here and that the sealing material should be chosen according to the requirements.

I would interpret this to mean that the window installer should at least install an EPDM tape at the bottom (closed-cell foam that is open to the outside is always nonsense, it absorbs water). But that alone is not a base sealing. There should actually be a connection option here that the window installer can work into. However, there is none here.
