Hello everyone,
we build turnkey and are now looking for nice sanitary fixtures. We are satisfied with the toilets included in the BU standard. The rest could definitely be better :) We have to source the fixtures from a specific sanitary specialist store. They had some fixtures on display, but apparently you can get anything from brand manufacturers as long as it is not made specifically for hardware stores. However, we also want to keep an eye on the price, so the price/performance ratio should be good.
-Sinks:
-For the main bathroom upstairs, we initially decided on 2 countertop sinks that will be wall-mounted, and under them we would put some kind of countertop including cabinets. My wife had fancied a double vanity that was on display, but it was supposed to cost a fortune. Do you perhaps have tips for individual or double sinks?
-In the guest bathroom, we would use the same countertop sink from the standard; nothing super fancy is needed there. Unless you have the ultimate tip for me :)
-Faucets: No idea why they are supposed to be so expensive in the specialist store :\ They should not be too small, but not too bulky either. We initially chose some that we liked quite a bit, but in my eyes the price/performance was not so great.
-Bathtub: We would like a 180x75 (or 80) tub with inlet and outlet in the middle. We found such tubs in the showroom with at least a €600 surcharge.
-Shower system: For the guest bathroom, the standard would probably suffice; presumably, only I will shower there :) For the main bathroom, we would like one with a rain shower, preferably surface-mounted. The only decent fixture in the showroom would have cost €1100 more. Sounds like a rip-off to me. When you look online, you can also find significantly cheaper ones from brand manufacturers, but I am afraid that there might be a lot of plastic under the hood and that you might not enjoy it for long. Recently on vacation, we had a shower from hansgrohe that looked quite nice but had a pretty flimsy faucet :\ That should not be the case. In the hardware store recently, I also found a quite nice rain shower system from a brand manufacturer, allegedly with no plastic parts, which is made only for hardware stores and was available for under €300.
Do you perhaps have good experiences regarding price/quality here?
I think that’s it for now. I am nevertheless always grateful for further tips/suggestions.
Thanks in advance :)
