Hello, we are now starting with the construction and I have a question. I have already looked everywhere but found nothing. We are getting an electric roller shutter on every window. As a control, I would like to do it so that I can control each roller shutter manually via a switch or floors or several rooms via a central unit. I don't necessarily want anything to be wireless or controlled by smartphone. I hope you can help me with that.

Why us? If your electrician calls that a simple group control.

Something like this can definitely also be realized with a small control unit (Siemens Logo, for example). Have all cables from the roller shutter motors end at a central point. Also the cables from the switches.

We are also getting electric roller shutters, but these will have radio motors installed directly (company Elero). This way, the windows can be controlled individually or in groups via a radio remote, or if you like, also via smartphone. The additional cost compared to the standard version without radio control is about €280 per window. You have to decide if it’s worth it for you, but I think it is, because it makes it very easy to create entire scenarios. Furthermore, these are things that you can’t just change afterwards.

That is not true. For example, we have a central control with astro function in a room with 4 roller shutters. This is a completely normal installation in the junction box with an auxiliary input. At the 4 windows there are also individual switches. So everything is wired in a completely classic way.

Exactly the same with us. We wanted to centrally control the four windows in the living/dining area. We also had it wired in the classic way to a spot where an Astro switch is used. At each of the four windows there is then the simple version (arrow up/down) again. The electrician did promote a radio solution several times, but I wanted it wired. It has nothing to do with KNX anyway.
