No one will take life advice off your hands. You have to evaluate that for yourselves. Otherwise, the whole thing is a bit macabre. In Germany, you would count among the top 3% highest earners.

Well, you also have no guarantee that you can maintain your lifestyle in post-Brexit London in the long term. Could Frankfurt perhaps be more future-oriented after all?

It makes no sense to commit to a fake package called life Yes, you can. Exactly that you can. You rent out your house and look around the area for 1 year alongside your job (as a banker you probably worry more about where you live than where you work ;) ). If you don't like it, you move back to your old life.

That's why I only asked if the salary allows such a loan. But only one person has answered me so far (thanks!). Why macabre?

I think it works. After all, you bring a good 30% equity and significantly reduce the risk for the bank.

Hi Bob, Madame and I had a significantly higher income in Switzerland a few years ago than you. At that time, I inquired at a few German banks regarding a loan; it was only about attempting to apply for some subsidies like KfW. It always has to go through a bank. The three banks asked back then unanimously declined with the reason that the income must be in € and especially earned in the Eurozone. Otherwise, it wouldn’t work. It could be similar for you because of GB. We then simply paid everything in cash, which avoids a lot of bureaucracy and simplifies everything immensely. Good luck!
