I agree, but I only tap on the keyboard for a few hours a day – see comment. At some point, it should also go upwards, so I actually don't worry about cash flow after repayment. Unfortunately, salaries in the financial world are often not as high in reality as the media portray them.

Me too, just a bit dark in winter. Otherwise great.

Interesting question. I'll give it a try: Whoever works hard gets done what needs to be done and has a lot to do. The verb "get done" can, depending on the task, also be replaced by "create" or "think". Many people work hard. Not so many are well compensated for it. There is no direct correlation between "working hard" and compensation.

working hard (in terms of time investment) = sacrifice

Wow, that is a bit much. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you manage a way out (upwards) soon. Such working hours are hard to reconcile with children and family in the long term.

Get done??? I get things done when I pick something up from the cleaners. I get a lot done before Christmas. But that’s not hard work ;)

Work // hard work... slogging, working until exhaustion... hard is an intensification, where you don’t just get things done but may possibly suffer a physical detriment from the activity.
One could also attribute it to harsh conditions, e.g. hard physical labor, work in heat/cold, work at height or depth, continuous desk work without a break, work requiring intense concentration, work under pressure, work involving disgust, work with extreme responsibility towards other people, and so on.

Thanks! That's why I also considered accepting the offer in Frankfurt. I can get a cool house in London too, but then there's an additional 3 hours of train per day on top, and that's with £5,000 per year per person for the tickets. All more bearable in a 'smaller' city like Frankfurt.

I agree, and I do that in the garden on weekends too. Does that count? ;)
