It is not about the affordability of a house, but about the ongoing costs that some societies entail if you want to keep up and not be the "second choice on the expensive shelf." At least in Düsseldorf, the differentiation is quite clear. A “reasonable” children’s birthday party costs four figures (without gifts). It adds up.

Don’t know :) 10 € cold cooperative :) but you wouldn’t be living there among the nobility and high society

Current listings from Bad Homburg:

- Year built 1965 with 257 sqm (7 rooms) for 1,095,000 €
- Year built 1963 with 300 sqm (9 rooms) for 1,700,000 €
- Year built 1995 with 505 sqm (11 rooms) for 2,800,000 €
- Year built 1998 with 250 sqm (9 rooms) for 3,150,000 €

With the last two offers, even with 7,000€/month it's tight :D[/B]

There are quite a few offers for detached houses around Bad Homburg in the six-figure range. Düsseldorf is not just Kö either.

If you look on the internet, you find many new builds from prefab house providers or developers around the million mark, but detailed information is often missing and you are always told to contact the company. Can these things be taken seriously, or is it all just false advertising?

Well, none of that interests me. I grew up modestly, live modestly, and that will not change.

whahahahaa, I'm cracking up. That's probably not true. But very funny. By the way, what I have heard from quite a few people who are now adults, former children of international and well-off parents, is that they found international school horrible. Not because the school is terrible, but because they only realized years later how uncomplicated other children (now adults) grew up. They had their neighborhood friends in the same class, they could interact much more in their free time. Meanwhile, the children in separate situations probably noticed that they were different and simply not part of the "normal" society. That can certainly be a burden. Not everything that glitters is gold, as they say. Maybe you should first redefine for yourselves what you actually want. It all reads rather immature and unrefined. Money, international flair, and international schools only help to a limited extent for a satisfying life.
