There are windows facing west in the bathroom and the toilet. In the extension, there will also be a window facing west as a light strip and a large window front facing north; these are not shown here. The windows will be replaced, but we did not want to create any new openings where there are none today.

So, I have marked the basement area in green again here:

How about the heating? Current and planned? Is underfloor heating already installed? Is it generally planned?

Currently, there are traditional radiators with oil heating, but all of that will be removed. We are installing an air heat pump and then partially wall heating and partially underfloor heating.

If you can get on board with the approach from and are willing to take on the effort of rerouting water pipes for the kitchen (under the basement ceiling to the new position), then I would plan it like this:

The room at the bottom left of the plan would be about exactly 16 sqm.
Wardrobe corner positioned in front of the bedroom, but with more space around the bed.

In the approximately 145 cm wide hallway, 40 cm deep cabinets for bed linen/towels could still fit.

Above, next to the basement stairs, you could create a proper wardrobe corner for truly all jackets in the 200 cm cabinet, all shoes in the 200 cm cabinet that is only 40 cm deep. Then a small bench for putting on shoes and about 100 cm left as an open wardrobe section with hooks for guests' jackets, etc.

Kitchen then as an L-shape, plus a small work block for baking, buffet preparation, etc. towards the table with open shelves, e.g. toaster, reading material, charging stations for cell phones, telephone, etc.
Casually spread two cozy armchairs and you have a well-usable kitchen/dining room.

Passage to the living area as planned. No windows moved ;)

I made the WC a bit longer so that the pre-wall for the washbasins in the main bathroom moves slightly more towards the bottom of the plan. The WC gap in the main bath was only about 70 cm, far too narrow.

Wow, thank you very much! The idea of relocating the kitchen and thus gaining a real wardrobe appeals to us very much. The dining area is also much more harmonious than before. It's not ideal in terms of the wiring, but that can be worked out. The additional space at the WC is also good. Between the bathtub and the washbasin there are 93 cm left, if I see that correctly. Is that comfortably enough? We are still not quite sure about the rooms. Our preference was already 2 children's rooms. But you could also combine our original plan well with your ideas. How does it work with the table directly in front of the kitchen island? Are the doors on the sides there? Best regards Kerstin
