We don’t have a separate children's room (that will come later in the house). For the changing place, my husband simply built something where the 75×85cm changing mats (we have those from Julius Zöllner) fit on top, with a drawer of the same size underneath where everything we need there is stored: diapers, wet wipes, nail scissors, diaper cream or similar, but also a few things that just need to be stored somewhere like swim diapers, the health booklet, and all sorts of other stuff. The whole setup is currently in the bathroom, but in the previous apartment it was also in the hallway in front of the bathroom. Under the drawer there is just space where the laundry basket used to stand, which we used as a baby bathtub, and now there is a cleaning bucket and our daughter's stool so she can reach the sink. For the diaper bin we simply use a household bin with a regular large trash bag. It works well. The clothes are in a dresser that currently stands in the living room. The crib (60×120) stands next to our bed. We almost got it for free from friends and only bought the mattress new (also a cheap Julius Zöllner one). I think the bed is from Ikea. As a bedside crib, we simply left out one of the slatted sides and brought the lying surface to the right height by screwing in two wooden slats inside. Overall, we bought most things used or even got them as gifts from friends and thus saved a lot of money. I also see it like the others: better to buy less and if necessary buy again later than to buy a lot of unnecessary stuff.
