For us, it always came from those packaged wet wipes. We quickly switched to pure water, or only removed very coarse dirt first with a wet wipe, then rinsed with water. Since then, nothing has ever been red again.

For warm water, we have a thermos flask.

We did not use wet wipes at all. For heavy soiling, oil cloths. Wet wipes are very popular here to clean steering wheels from oil and other dirt. Are they supposed to be used on children's bottoms? Usually cotton wool with black tea right away Diapers changed multiple times Even cloth diapers did not help What my little one does, she does right, there are no half measures.

initially disposable washcloths with warm water, then switched to DM sensitive wet wipes soaked with warm water. is cheaper than disposable washcloths and more practical with a dispenser. has proven effective. Yes - diaper accident. How does poop get all the way between the shoulder blades? fascinating and disgusting at the same time.

It is simply very individual. How the children are, how the parents are. Some do co-sleeping until whenever, others move out quickly (in our case after 6 months). Experiences of others or even guides are only usable to a limited extent.

Therefore, still the vote is not to invest too much in advance. That is usually pointless. The important things push themselves forward on their own. The good news: Nothing of it is vital for survival, everything needed can be obtained in a timely manner. No one dies because the heat lamp doesn't work, the diaper is changed on the floor, or the bottom is red.

True words from guckuck2, especially you better not buy stuffed animals and things like that. Actually, at the beginning you really only need a small basic supply, and you shouldn’t stockpile a lot of diapers either. You first have to see which size you need AND you can practically always get them.

As I said, for the room furnishings we bought them so that they can also serve as a youth room. Or alternatively we take them over and the dog could still get the bed.

I agree with you.

Heat lamp, nursing pillow, nursing chair? None of that was needed.
The wardrobe was initially not assembled at all and after the move, it was half empty for the first few years.
(and now it is, as mentioned earlier, impractical)
For the bottom, we had dry wipes with clear lukewarm water for cleaning and then some almond oil for moisturizing. We never bought all that baby stuff.
