Honestly, if a general contractor only builds according to their own ideas, even though I am supposed to pay them, they are the wrong "partner". If I pay, I want my wishes to be fulfilled. Period.

That is true, that is also agreed upon. He just offers me both options, gas and heat pump. Until now, it was basically clear for me to build with gas, I have described the reasons. But now there is the offer to pay about 3000 euros more for the heat pump and thereby achieve kfw55. That makes me reconsider. One problem then, however, is cooking if we decide against gas. We just bought a new gas stove last year, which we actually do not want to miss. And having a gas connection just for cooking isn’t worthwhile.

Wouldn't kfw55 alone be a value added due to a possible KfW subsidy of 18,000 EUR (until 30.06.21)? From that, you can cover the extra costs of 3000 EUR and certainly buy a new stove if needed ... Of course, it is not directly transferable 1:1, since the 18,000 EUR is not paid out directly, but at least "given".

"I didn't want to study for it either, just to decide on a heating system."

One should definitely deal with such things thoroughly, at least if one wants an efficient and well-planned house.

Sure, basically yes. But if I then have higher consumption with the heat pump in the coming years than with gas, meaning I pay more for electricity, it might no longer be worthwhile. Those are my concerns.

But I can't get involved with every trade so intensively. Since we can only build during the summer, it has to start soon, or we have to postpone to 2022.
