Objection:
In autumn/winter, my 10 cubic meter tank was also full.
Due to this year's weather conditions, it also took longer before the water was used for irrigation. Therefore, the cistern remained full for a long time as well.

okay okay, I actually wanted to be heretical about Bürgerhaus. Basically, you can simply use the water better than letting it infiltrate. And use the soakaway as an overflow. At least that's my opinion.

I agree with you. Although the cost-benefit factor should not be completely overlooked here (there have already been some discussions about it). However, if you are penalized by the regulation that you are not allowed to discharge any water into the sewer system, you necessarily have to ensure that it can seep away—one way or another. Even in such crappy weather summers as this year (referring to the weeks up to mid-July), when in the worst case you have more of a water property than a building plot.

If you need a cistern for retention anyway, then you should also use the water from it. So pump it in, etc. But installing a cistern only for irrigation - that apparently isn't worth it, as can also be read here in the forum.

You normally don't need the cistern, but rather the infiltration trench. However, since that is also not free, I can put the cistern in between. That way, I might save tap water for the garden and could also use it for the toilets.
