The defect of not having documented the sampling yourself can no longer be remedied now; in other words: alternatively, you can only do the whole aria again. That means searching for models and prices from an independent provider, listing them, and ensuring with "or equivalent" that other models are not allowed to be rubbish.

I find this approach highly peculiar. Even in construction service descriptions, brands are usually named, and at least retail list prices don’t have to be kept secret. And model designations – more specification is not even expected – especially not.

Because basically you only want the fixation that afterwards what was selected is actually included. In this respect, I would have expected a protocol of the sampling (purely as a list of the selected items with names). Why did you leave back then without such a thing?

The material list is definitely not the same as the sampling list. It is only about the model names of the objects chosen during the sampling. After all, the idiot from the specialist exhibition could have written something completely different on the sheet. You want to avoid confusion and mistakes.

Regarding the list concerning material and labor costs, I fully agree with the craftsman. The price is at the bottom right. If not, the next customer is already waiting.

Go buy a kitchen. The price is basically "rolled dice." Not exactly; but there are block prices; meaning an additional meter of cabinet might cost nothing anymore because you move into the next level.

And the same story applies to bathrooms with many installers. The margin is defined over the project instead of by the calculation for each individual part.

Are you an end customer or are you acting as a businessman?

So my kitchen purchase was super transparent including individual prices, explanations, etc.

I act as an end customer, which does not exempt an honorable merchant from making correct offers.

BUT: with a lot of fuss, the list came this morning... including his purchase prices, which don’t interest me at all.

Well then. I’d say persistence is rewarded.

He can do that. But the offer says "Refrigerator Binford 6100 turbo" and "Oven Traditionia Space Edition GTI with Schnischnaschnupp from all sides." Naming only the final price as a sum is okay, but nobody would offer "6.80 linear meters of kitchen with two sinks," of course.

That is nice to hear. I actually would have expected something different.
