Problem with the electrician - what would you do?

Had a different situation yesterday that is related: The landscaper came by and made me an offer (recommendation came from my shell builder).

I agreed and explained to him our situation with the electrician, why we don't have ceiling lights, I was also willing to show him the proofs (told him that too) that I had made payments to him and he no longer shows up.

After that, he left, called my shell builder and said: nice family, but somehow I find their situation strange, they are in a new building where a lot still needs to be done, are you sure they will pay?

The shell builder then said (he knows our situation very well and we are now good friends): that is the truth and he can prove it, just do your work, if you don’t get your money, I guarantee and come to me afterwards.

I found that very nice, but I can’t stand such things, I was always fair to the electrician and other craftsmen were discouraged because of this.

Well .....

I just received a message from the electrician: "I won't manage to complete the exact listing by day Xyz, I need some more time, afterwards I will finish it and discuss everything with you.

I replied that I have said everything and want the listing by the mentioned day.

He then wrote that it is now my decision, but he apologizes for his behavior, he said he felt pressured and it was a snap reaction.

On the one hand, he shows insight into his misconduct, but how can someone freak out like that when you tell him calmly to finish the work and request a final invoice, he didn’t answer the phone/WhatsApp for several weeks, how could I have pressured him then?!

Today he found out from some people that I will probably take legal action against him.......

Really sad that some people only come to their senses when they worry about their own skin....

Then he wrote: "If I should refund you anything from what you have already paid me, of course you will get everything back immediately. Just for your information."

With all due respect, so you just write invoices on a whim and hope no one notices, and now he indirectly says that he might have charged too much?!

I said nothing further about it...

Ps: it took him 2 weeks to remember to apologize.... :-)

Why ugly? Caravan trips are great because they bring you back down to earth and remind you of what is really important in life. No one can be so ugly that it deserves to be mentioned.
