Strive for a middle ground. Where it seems practical to you, use fixed glass, but still make sure that in every room there are enough windows with opening sashes so you can do cross-ventilation from time to time. Personally, I have had little need to ventilate so far. I rather have to remind myself that we should still do it additionally at the moment to get the moisture out of the house (although the controlled residential ventilation system also helps with that).
Only in the office, when we both game together in the evening, does the desire to ventilate arise. However, this is more because of the heat development and less because of the air quality. If two gaming PCs run under load for two hours, the room temperature sometimes rises to 28°C, and that with the ERR completely turned off. :D
Do you maybe have acquaintances who already have a house with controlled residential ventilation and rarely ventilate manually? Invite yourself there on a Sunday and tell them to close the windows beforehand so you can get an impression of the air in the house through controlled residential ventilation.
The effects that hampshire describes, of the great air after a summer rain, etc., I know those too. However, only when I go outside. I cannot claim that I have ever been able to bring this post-rain air into the house by ventilating.
