Hello,

I have laid 6 point foundations in several stages beneath our terrace. Two Pergolas from Pergolux will be erected here.

The foundations are 40x40 or 50x40 and each about 50cm deep. Below that is a gravel layer of just under 30cm.

The oldest of the foundations is about 8 days old, the newest 4 days.

In the last few days, we have had around 10 degrees, sometimes 14... At night sometimes as low as 5.

From when can I assemble the Pergolux and also attach it to the foundations. Attachment will be done via V4A concrete screws. A Pergolux weighs approximately 200kg, fully assembled. The larger foundations always carry both pergolas (placed side by side).

Thank you very much.

Theoretically only after 30 days. I would just do it after a week...

I still have to build mine this year as well. According to Pergolux, point foundations measuring 85x85x85 cm are to be made, but I think that is quite excessive. Are the sizes you specified sufficient? I have no experience with that, I have only ever concreted fences and posts.

I personally think it's exaggerated. You just have to be careful how you mount the feet. With bolt anchors, you should have enough concrete, otherwise it will break away. That's why I also use concrete screws for safety.

Regarding my question. I would like to start the installation the Saturday after next. That means the oldest foundation would be about 19 days old, the youngest about 13 days.

Our fitters had waited 4 weeks with the installation, however by a professional company and they guarantee the installation. Why the hurry, here it is still 0-10 degrees and it is February. Wait until April and everything will be fine

I don’t see a problem with that now. The concrete doesn’t cure evenly; it cures very quickly at first and then more slowly. The masons often are already standing on the intermediate floor 1-2 days after pouring the concrete and continue working.

85x85x85 seems massively exaggerated to me. 40x40 should basically be sufficient, especially with 200 kilos spread across multiple foundations. As for wind loads, that is also enough if it bonds well with the soil/gravel around it. For anything that spreads, always leave at least a 10cm edge distance. Ideally, a bit more.
