Planning the terrace roofing. Is there light entering the rooms?

Hello Voki,

From experience, I can report that the light incidence in the bedroom is still acceptable. The children's room has two windows, the living room is also safe.

I am happy to send you pictures of a terrace roof that we had added to our former house 15 years ago. As with you, only the bedroom with one window was affected.

We had to apply for a building permit. However, this roof is still a bit larger than the one you planned.

Best regards, Eve

Similar canopies are also installed by a prefabricated house manufacturer from southern Baden.

Quick question, what material is the construction made of? Are those glued laminated timber beams? And then a glaze on top?

Isn't it very warm underneath in midsummer like that without shading?

Hello,

In 2010 and NRW, this pavilion measuring 5.16 m x 3.00 m including 2 reinforced concrete pillars and foundations, 2 beams, Schöck element for connection to the house, glass roof made of VSG, and exterior plaster on concrete pillars, electrical installation, gutter and downpipes cost €11,695.00. Additionally, there was the side sail and later another sail under the VSG; unfortunately, I cannot say how much that cost, as I did not ask.

Rhenish greetings

If I remember correctly, yes; except - of course - the concrete pillars.

Yes. That's why our builders later put another sail under the laminated safety glass (VSG).

Rhenish regards

You can quite easily calculate the incidence of light per season. You can get the sun position from Sonnenstand.de - then simply simulate rays using PowerPoint with scale drawings.
