Hello everyone,
I have to finalize the planning of our recessed downlights in the new building this week. Everywhere there is a suspended drywall ceiling. I know that everything can be calculated with beam angles, etc., but I don’t have time for that. Therefore, I have followed the guideline "double the distance between the spots than to the wall" and made sure that the number of spots can adequately illuminate the room (hallway 100 lumens, living room 200, bathroom 300 L/sqm).
Could you please take a look and let me know if anything stands out to you, also regarding the measurements? The attachments are partly very simply depicted, but I think everything is understandable.
Kitchen:
Spots directly above the countertop to avoid shadows cast by people. Probably 3 pendant lights will come over the island. The question here is whether the lighting is sufficient or if I need extra spots for the corridor between the kitchen unit and the island?
Bathroom as a T-solution
The row of spots in the shower and toilet should be clear. The question here is whether even one row of spots in the area of the washbasin and bathtub would be sufficient?
Hallway:
This is a bit tricky since we have the staircase and additionally a recess for the attic stairs in the ceiling. Furthermore, the hallway extends somewhat further below the plan, but the roof slope begins there. Is 1.35 m distance to the wall too much and do I have to install additional spots in the 47 cm niche between the wall and RuckZuck staircase? Is one spot enough for the corridor left beside the stairs?
Living room:
Here I used two colors since the spots should be switchable differently. The outer red ring then serves more as indirect light. All will be dimmable. Unfortunately, I cannot yet provide the horizontal measurements as the beam placement determines this.
I am grateful for any suggestions, criticism, etc.
