I solved it differently and simply used a 5-slot sub-distribution board. One of the slots is equipped as a multimedia slot, with 2 x 12-port Keystone patch panels, below that 4 mounting plates for devices (for us 1 x TP-Link Omada ER7212PC Router/WiFiController/PoE-Switch, 1 x cable modem, later Omada Switch if we want to use all Ethernet ports), and at the very bottom the power strip for the devices.

Most people advise against it, but I find the solution much more elegant/compact – admittedly chosen/executed like this due to lack of space in our case. Logically, it also has disadvantages, larger devices won’t fit there.

Let's see :-)

Where would be the best place to position the access point then?

Here are my thoughts for the property regarding the cameras. In the front the doorbell camera, then instead of just at NW and SE also a third camera at SW. That way a large part of the property would be covered.

Pay attention with the cameras to what you might also record outside of your property. Even if you assure the neighbors that you will "black out" those areas, it can still be a cause for disputes.

And think about what effects cameras specifically might have for you. (Possibly misleading security; interest for thieves; maintenance effort and extra costs) Sensible building security must be well thought out and consistently pursued. Not much success is achieved with just a camera. Just to be understood as a small food for thought.

Thanks for the stimulus for thought :-) We have already had a consultation with the police and received advice on all components of the house, including lighting of the property and also cameras.
