maybe it helps, maybe not. Technology can (at least in our region NRW it was possible if there is no gas, oil or pellet) possibly be relocated to an external technical room built on the border outside the thermal envelope. That costs money, but gives more freedom to use the few remaining square meters.

Once in a lifetime.. then it is what it is. Don’t get me wrong. There are things that are nice and things that just are the way they are if they’re not realized. Yes, a door opening outwards shouldn’t be a problem, but for now we should wait for the facts regarding the site plan and orientation. Who knows, maybe a side entrance makes more sense? And that would lead to different dimensions for the darn guest bathroom… Well, 32 sqm for three people is just not a choice anyone would make. I would go with a small fold-out dining table as well. It may also be that the family ends up eating on the sofa together, and hey: if there are parties, they can be held well at Andro or wai in the private room in Hamburg. Other countries set an example. They always meet in the public dining area. That way, your own apartment stays private and small. So let’s wait for the site plan etc.

How often does that happen? I wouldn’t plan based on that unless there is no other option. Or rather, we have it that way too.

Did you really dare to build it with the doors like that? Didn’t that cause problems in everyday life?

It looks similar for us as for . We actually have even less space. The thing with the doors is indeed suboptimal, especially with small children. But over all these years we haven't caused any damage ... ;-)

We also asked about a technical basement. But it was over budget in terms of price. And with the house dimensions, it was not that far from a full basement in terms of price. Inflation and world events have unfortunately made the project significantly more expensive than originally expected.
