"Audi reached a BEV quota of 4.9 percent in 2021, Mercedes including Smart 4.1 percent, but VW is at least at 5.4 percent. This is according to the sales figures of the Wolfsburg core brand.
Across all drive types, VW delivered around 4.90 million vehicles, about eight percent less than in 2020. Of these, around 263,000 were battery-electric vehicles (BEVs). With this, the company doubled BEV deliveries compared to the previous year.
But VW is not even close to Tesla; Elon Musk delivered almost 940,000 electric cars worldwide in 2021 – more than three times as many as VW. Adding up the BEV sales of all VW Group brands, the core brand (263,000 BEVs), Audi (82,000 BEVs), Skoda (49,000 BEVs), Porsche (41,000 BEVs), and Cupra (3,000 BEVs) total about 438,000 BEVs, roughly half the number of electric cars Tesla sells."

There, VW, Porsche, etc. are themselves given as sources.
By the way, in October 2021 Tesla was already worth 8 times more than VW (market capitalization).
We'll talk again in 5 years ;). China will, like many other (Nordic) countries, allow exclusively BEVs far ahead of Germany.
If the Chinese market completely collapses (it actually already is), it will soon be dark times for VW... unfortunately. The European market alone does not count for a globally operating car manufacturer.
P.S.: By the way: I basically like VWs. We still have three in the family; one will go away as soon as the Tesla arrives. The workmanship etc. is really good.
For Germany, it would be catastrophic if VW collapses. But they haven't recognized the signs of the times. Examples of how it can go: Nokia
