Good morning from the Palatinate.
My name is Uwe, I have been reading here for some time. We will soon start building our future home. Since we also have to work hard for our money, we are looking for ways to save a few bucks. Regarding the topic (see above), I have already read a lot here and in other forums.
I have understood that
-many windows made in PL are made from parts "Made in Germany"
-many "German" windows are Made in PL
-the installation of the windows should be carried out by 100% professionals

This is not what I am concerned about here. I am exclusively interested in personal experiences with one's own project. Ideally also over a certain period of time - for example after four/five years. We are thinking of wood/aluminum windows. It would be great to get usable advice here.
In this sense: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year into a healthy 2020

Uwe

The best savings effect will be brought by the downgrade to plastic.

Do you think this savings effect is long-term? Or was this statement initially referring only to the purchase price?

Hello We do not want to install plastic windows. That also sounds – with all due respect – not like a report regarding personal experiences in your own project. Have a nice day Uwe

1) Wood aluminum only makes sense if particularly narrow frames or muntins are desired. It is a heritage protection feature. Otherwise too expensive. 2) Our windows: built in 2017. Veka profiles, Roco handles, triple glazing, made in Stettin, no problems so far. Installed by local contractor. He also sold them.

Yes. I have lived in apartments where there were plastic windows from the 80s. Some panes were fogged and were replaced. The frames themselves did not need to be replaced.
Wood is always more perishable if it is not maintained. For that, you will have a five-figure higher investment.

Your motivation came from the saving effect and the hard-earned money. The upgrade from plastic to wood/aluminum will cost you five figures. So you are turning the wrong screw if you want noticeable savings.

But it's okay, now we know wood/aluminum is set.

By the way, you are in a public forum here. The users will still decide for themselves what they write
