Paint or wallpaper lime-cement plaster?

We painted the lime-cement plaster with interior silicate paint. (Diffusion-open) Two coats were necessary without primer.

Is the Go On Tiefgrund an acrylic primer?

@ truce: and what do you do years later when further coats are needed and eventually the paint starts to peel? We actually just wanted to paint without wallpaper, but we're starting to have doubts...

We are very satisfied with our fiberglass fleece, we would do it the same way again. For just painting you need an extremely smooth surface, i.e. sand to Q2, apply filler all over (e.g. roller filler), then sand again and paint. I did that on one wall, it looks great, but it was too expensive for me (roller filler!) and time-consuming.

We would not do any additional sanding and filling. In the show house, they also painted directly, and we think the result is good. We are only concerned about what happens in 30 years, when at least the third layer of paint is on there and it peels off. What do you do then? Scrape everything off? Put wallpaper over it?

With Q2 you should at least sand, otherwise it is still very uneven..
