Whether you dilute the primer or use the TG doesn't matter. The TG and the primer are meant to achieve the same effect. You can also dilute with water. Namely, that the substrate no longer absorbs and therefore the topcoat provides a harmonious finish. It does not appear blotchy. That's the point. The paint does not fall off the wall even without a primer. What makes sense with new plaster is to sand it lightly once, because during hardening and drying it deposits sinter on the surface, on which paint does not adhere well. Karsten

I would sand, prime, and apply the paint with an airless device. It looks great and the devices are not that expensive

Marvinius. The questioner seems to just now be able to distinguish brushes from rollers. And you’re talking about guns.

I have heard many things already and am therefore somewhat uncertain. Recently, a painter told me that you should only remove the pimples with a scraper, but under no circumstances sand the plaster (in his opinion, you would see that after painting). Another person, however, strongly recommends sanding.

So, maybe both are true. The problem: At the top of the ring beam and in the corners, the plaster dries very poorly and forms this sinter layer, which also hinders drying. I lightly sanded these areas by hand with fine paper, which resulted in them drying and turning white. For the large wall surfaces, we only removed pimples with a spatula and puttied joints where you might have bumped with a ladder or something. I think you don’t see the sanded areas.

Hello everyone, I am revisiting the somewhat older post here.

Since I don’t quite understand this, with what exactly did you fill the lime cement plaster (KZP)? We have the same situation. We have KZP in the wet rooms. It was applied by the plasterer as a base plaster. I am struggling with how to proceed now. I would also like to just putty/sand, but I’m not quite sure with what, and then apply the paint.

How was your KZP treated before painting? Was anything applied on the base plaster? Did you also only putty and sand, and if so, with what material?

Thank you very much :)
