Not bad ... line spacing to the refrigerator, etc. would personally be too much for me ... would be about 180 cm.

However, not much can be done with partial plans and incomplete information.

The room is simply not suitable for a work island. It is too narrow for that, and the length does not need to be further emphasized because of it. Since we are not in a wishful thinking scenario here, the key issue of "long" has to be somewhat mitigated. The nice thing are the windows, slightly higher and elongated, so they invite you to breakfast here, with enough distance to the actual dining area. The kitchen here would be a normal two-liner, which is somewhat wider than optimal, but with kitchen units that could possibly be made a bit deeper, e.g. 75 or 80 instead of a deep island, one minimizes the space in between to 150... they are RBM anyway. With the tall cabinets, you could still generate storage space on the side, i.e. between the back wall and the wall. Instead of the rectangular table, I can imagine a modern corner bench, basically an Ikea hack made from Kallax or something, and then a round table in front of it. I find my more than spontaneous idea more than brilliant.

That's already a Schubeck compliment. The working line fits too .. and the fact that I mentioned the line spacing is actually more academic, so that future home planners consider something like that before construction.

So I really like the suggestion! That looks quite clever! I'll plan it in alno like that, then my husband can visualize it too. By the way, the window by the stairs will only be installed if the kitchen doesn't suffer because of it. So priority number 1 is the kitchen... if it fits, then great, otherwise not... Does anyone else have such good ideas?!
