Hello Howie :) No one is complaining... From your explanations, I sense between the lines that you mainly see the architect as responsible for the design planning. You should take a closer look at the service phases of the hoai to get a feeling for everything an architect does at the construction site to possibly cover gaps in your planning early on. Very superficially, I suggest: - detailed planning, tenders, and awarding contracts. Your approach isn’t that exotic... don’t be deceived, but also don’t be deceived regarding the complexity of the project and that many of the "friends who did it the same way" sometimes had more luck than sense and certainly some things would have been designed differently in hindsight. (Next to me stands such a little house... there are all sorts of compromises involved that even a layperson standing in front of it can recognize - not without reason is there the saying that you build your first house for your enemy...) -ks

HAHAHA that's cool... I didn't know that before...

... exactly, the architect makes the design, then the structural engineer comes and calculates everything to check if the statics are correct, which windows, heating, etc., and with that, the two are done for the time being. Then I sit down with the construction manager and make the plan (no idea what it's called technically) where we write down everything we need and then offers are supposed to be requested. If then something doesn't match, for example, the money isn't enough or something, then the first two guys have to step in again and make adjustments... The construction manager accompanies me throughout the entire time. The other two are "unemployed" at the start when things really get going.

The first for the enemy, the second for the friend, and the third for oneself.

Seen that way, I came off well. For me, the first is already enough for the friend. :D
