The non-separation arises from cost reasons and the architect's opinion that a shared wall is similarly good as two separate walls. It will come down to a heat pump with separate meters and, if possible, separate photovoltaic systems.

So it will not happen that the two halves are not aligned in a line, perhaps I expressed myself incorrectly.

What is point symmetry?

If you consider it as a rough sketch, yes. As I already said: the staircase guides the floor plan! Well, you ask a lot of questions, and that is okay and good. But you also have to step out of your shell and say yourself what you like or don’t like. This is not about praise or our opinion, it’s about your house. Where is the outdoor unit supposed to be placed? Or will it be an indoor unit?

A reflection about two axes, meaning the adjacent half is not "reflected" but "rotated 180°".

We generally like the floor plan I uploaded in the first post. Also with the rear building boundary. But new input (north side not so bad after all, aligned with neighbors) raised the question whether we gave up on the north side or the orientation to the north too quickly. The problem is that we don’t like any floor plan so far because we want to include both north and south if we have two terraces there. Simply continuing to use the previous floor plan and shifting to the front building boundary does not solve the “problem” of the living area on the north side. Entrance on the south side takes away the good light, and we haven’t found a floor plan with a side centrally located entrance that we like.

The outdoor unit is planned either as an indoor unit or by the carports, this still needs to be discussed with the heating engineer.

Your first floor plan also had the north terrace accessed from the hallway/entrance area. So I don’t see what is wrong with Yvonne’s floor plan idea. I like that you keep responding to our questions, but unfortunately for me, they still often come afterwards. Have you looked at the simulated sun position of your property by now? That looks great even in the north garden. Of course, no direct sun in the north rooms, but still quite a lot in the garden, because (if I’m correct with my research and I’m not posting the image due to data protection) there is no development directly east and west of it. Only your house casts a shadow to the north. That can’t be all that bad. Somehow it seems to me that you are putting the cart before the horse, with wrong assumptions/thoughts. Well, you’re probably pondering yourselves already. So I’ll wait to see what conclusion you come to regarding the orientation of the rooms.
